Oasis – support for families of people who gamble

Just ‘B’ is offering a new service to help families affected by someone who gambles.

If someone close to you gambles, we can give you the emotional support you need.

Oasis is a confidential telephone helpline available to anyone living in North Yorkshire, available 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm on 0300 303 4434.

This service is funded by GambleAware’s Community Resilience Fund.

Our trained counsellors are on hand to listen and support you with the emotional impact of living with someone who gambles.

Our aim is to help individuals and families to go on to lead happier and healthier lives, reducing the effects of the harm and distress they experience because of someone else’s gambling.

Further one to one support for this service will follow over the next few months.

People are able to self-refer to the service or can be signposted by other agencies such as GPs, health and social care professionals and community and faith organisations.
